Random weight barcode processing
The SiS is now able to read random weight barcodes. Any random weight item with a known item number can be processed on the SiS by scanning the barcode. If the associated item number is unknown, the item will be sent to the Unknown Item Handling workflow.
This feature will greatly improve the process for capturing these items on the SiS as the RTV clerk will no longer need to manually enter the item number as a workaround.
Organix bin
We have added an Organix bin under the "Other" path as an option for food disposal. Please note that this bin should ONLY be used by locations that currently use the Organix program.

Item lifecycle instructions
We have enabled item specific instructions to display on the SIS. This will allow users to see the full hazmat instruction for a given item on the the recommendation screen.
We worked with the Hazmat team to identify 25 LCs (~500 items) that will display this new type of instruction with the update. We will continue to add these instructions for other items ongoing.

We improved the look and functionality of the Source field to make it more prominent. We also removed Source's default selection to improve the accuracy of logged data.

E-waste processing workflow
We worked with ERI to improve the overall process for shipping electronics. This workflow allows users to scan electronics items through the SiS without having to individually enter them in My Track Tech.
We added a workflow to the Scan Items screen that aids in the processing of generic item number electronics. Users will be able to designate the type of electronic being processed to improve data quality and add more transparency into each ERI shipment.
Item labels will now print out when an item is confirmed into the Electronics Recycling Pallet. These labels call out ITAD items specifically to differentiate them from other e-waste.

We added a multi-component flag to the Mark for Review workflow. Users will now be able to suggest that an item should be multi-component, single-component, or flag the multi-component instructions for review.
System and manual weight entry
There are now two new ways to capture the weight of bulky and/or heavy items! Users can now manually enter the weight of an item or use the item's system weight (if it is > 50lb). This new feature will help generate accurate data for items that cannot fit on the SiS scale.
System weight has been added to the Quick Scan screen and will be visible to users when they enter this mode.
We fixed an issue that caused long item instructions to overlap with the path recommendation buttons on the Scan Items screen. We added a scroll bar to keep the instructions contained within their designated space.

Costco's AS400 STOP instructions have been over-classified for many states to ensure compliance with the strictest policies nationwide. We have completed a rule audit for all items that have previously been classified as White (State Toxic) and are now managing these items at the state specific level.
Liquids and gases will now be classified as Special Waste, and qualifying solids will be recommended for the Compactor. You will see this change reflected in single component recommendations as well as in multi-component item instructions.
White (State Toxic) will still appear in different UI workflows on the SiS for a brief period of time. All instances of the phrase White (State Toxic) will be removed from the SiS in the next update.
25 September 2019
We have improved the overall quality of multi-component instructions that appear on the SiS. The instruction content and formatting have been audited and updated so they are more concise and clear to the user.
All items previously eligible for Use in Warehouse are now INELIGIBLE. This update was made to the rules following Costco's operational change to remove the option internally. Items intended for Purchase in Warehouse do not need to be processed through the SiS.

New product name viewing functionality has been added to the on-screen packing lists. This feature allows users to select truncated product names to reveal the full length name.
We have added a Volume Slider to the video training page to ensure that SIS users can adjust the volume as needed as they move through each video.
A previous bug caused training videos to occasionally play in a random order. We made a fix so that the videos play in sequential order all the way through the training.
We fixed an issue that caused items to continually show up as unknown. A small change was made to prevent users from getting stuck in this never-ending cycle.
We fixed an issue that forced users to restart in order for a new Donation partner to show up as an option for users to select. New partners will now show up as soon as they are added.

Items that are scanned without a weight are now represented with a "-" for on-screen packing lists and with "N/A" for printed packing list. These system weights will be auto-populated on the back end for reporting.
We updated our language throughout the SIS to replace all instances of "barcode" with "UPC".
Unknown Item alert information now displays UPC and Item Number (when applicable).
The on-screen keyboard now includes a green "Confirm" button and a "Close" icon to hide the keyboard after use.
The on-screen number pad now includes a "Cancel" button.

The Video training takes the user through a series of videos and quizzes that prepare the user for using the SIS on a daily basis.
A recent change to our code caused item numbers to not be properly stored for unknown items. We made a fix so unknown items now properly record the item number
We have improved the "Mark for Review" (formerly "Flagging") workflow to help the user provide product and path feedback in a meaningful way. We have removed the need for typing custom notes by streamlining the user interface. These changes help set clear expectations for when a record can be marked for review and how the user should move through the workflow to continue processing.
We have created Device specific emails for each SIS. This improvement ensures that certain workflows will trigger emails to be sent to the user email address we have on file. These workflows include Email SDS and Mark for Review.
